Amanda Wiggs
Trauma Therapist and Mental Health Social Worker (BSW)
"Change is hard at first, messy in the middle and gorgeous at the end."
Change is not easy to do but remaining stuck in patterns that keep you from achieving your life goals is harder in the long term.
I see my role is to listen, to provide a non-judgemental space, to provide empathy and build a strong therapeutic relationship to assist clients to overcome life's challenges. I work with clients collaboratively and therapeutically to establish personalised goals and develop strategies to assist in overcoming obstacles.
I am dedicated to providing clients with a trauma-informed and person centred approach to clients experiencing mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, post traumatic and complex trauma.
I am a social worker and member of the Australian Association of Social Workers. I work with adults across all ages primarily with assisting to manage symptoms of anxiety, depression, complex trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder.
I offer a variety of services including counselling, therapy and psycho-education to assist you in managing challenging and difficult situations and life stages. I incorporate a range of therapeutic interventions including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), EMDR, solution focused therapy and mindfulness. In addition, I have a broad knowledge in somatic based therapies and am also a trauma informed somatic based yoga teacher.
I have broad experience working with people from varying cultural backgrounds, ages, gender identify and abilities and I work with adults of all ages primarily with assisting to manage symptoms of anxiety, depression, complex trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder.
